DATE: April 2012 - CI Addresses EEOC Guidance
COHOES -- Commercial Investigations LLC, an employment background investigation agency, addresses new guidance
released by the EEOC regarding the use of criminal records in employment decisions.
“There has been a lot of speculation in regards to the anticipated EEOC guidelines,” said CI President Michelle Pyan. “I’m
excited about the opportunities that we’ll have to further differentiate ourselves as a background investigations company.
We already have many processes in place for our clients that are addressed in the guidelines. We also have some options
we’re ready to release depending on client needs as they determine how the guidelines will change their processes.”
As a member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners, Commercial Investigations LLC,
reiterates the Association’s message:
“NAPBS supports and promotes criminal background checks as an appropriate and necessary tool to help employers
make informed hiring decisions and ensure the safety and well-being of their staff and customers.
Employers use background checks to protect their business interests, ensure the reliability of their workforce and to protect
current employees, customers, members of the public, brand name and trade secret information; criminal history checks are
a part of the overall screening of a potential employee.”
Commercial Investigations will be hosting several upcoming webinars to provide further guidance and information, which will
be coming soon. If you would like to attend, contact email@example.com
